About Sarah
My path to becoming a therapist.
Introduction
I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor offering confidential, inclusive therapy with a steady and grounded presence. I work with adults navigating many of life’s complexities – grief, anxiety, identity, trauma, stress, or simply the feeling of being lost or disconnected. You don’t need a diagnosis or a “big reason” to seek counselling. If something matters to you, that’s enough.

NHS & Life Experience
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades as a specialist paramedic in the NHS. My work brought me into contact with people at their most vulnerable – during crises, uncertainty, and change.
That experience continues to shape how I sit alongside clients today: with calmness, empathy, and a deep respect for what it means to feel human.
“The task of healing is to become the person we were meant to be – before trauma got in the way”.

My Own Healing
Like many people who come to therapy, I’ve known what it’s like to lose direction and struggle to feel hope. My own journey includes living with complex PTSD, grieving the career that gave my life purpose, and slowly rebuilding a sense of identity and belonging. It was therapy that helped me find my way forward—and led me here.

Identity & Inclusion
I bring not only professional training, but lived experience of what it means to navigate identity, belonging, and personal change. That journey shapes the way I sit beside others – with understanding, openness, and care.
Why I Do This Work.
I didn’t come to counselling straight from school. In fact, school was a hard place for me, both emotionally and academically. I left with few qualifications and little confidence.
It took time, detours, and a lot of life experience to get here – and that’s part of what I bring to the counselling room. I’m not here to give advice or tell you how to live your life.
I’m here to listen, to be present, and to offer you a space that’s entirely yours.
For all that brought you here, and all that lies ahead.
